- Depression. says people call him insane!
- wearing bright clothes & lots of jewellery, seems very restless, pacing up and down the waiting room. he is mumbling to himself and intermittently starts singing rather loudly.
- when the assistant doctor approaches to calm him, he starts shouting and swearing loudly and becomes quite intimidating and threatening.
- for the past 15 days he has had broken sleep, but despite that he feels full of energy. on asking about reason for broken sleep he said he is working on a breakthrough invention that would revolutionize his field.
- there isn't any known adverse medical history.
- no psychiatric history apart from the depressive episodes.
- lives in PG. doesn't have any as such friends! likes to be left alone with his work. wants to be millionaire as soon as it is possible!
- smokes 15-20 cigarettes a day and engages in social drinking using no more than two units a week.
Does these details are enough to initiate treatment?

ReplyDeleteI have no occasion to use it but my search is pointing to Palladium for the following reasons.
ReplyDeleteThe patient wants to attach much importance to his opinions or judgements. as there's no other causations, in stricter homeopathic parlance a disposition either constitutional or acquired can become a symptom and hence a perpetuating cause. here his obsession with doing something original necessarily makes him demand recognition.
This fondness of good opinion of others is here enough to account for the tendency to wear jewelry etc and to put up a best appearance. using strong language, excitement in company and aggravated Afterwards makes him love solitude. aggravation from loss of sleep can be implied from the circumstances

It's clearly sulphur.
ReplyDeleteMy efforts lead me to medicines like arsenic, sulphur, aurum met, and natrum sulph. In my opinion it should be sulphur.
ReplyDeleteArsenic is having depression with fear of loss of system hence it can be greedy, it is restless,he is selfish,but there is fear of being alone instead desire to be left alone. Moreover likings for bright coloured clothes is something different. There is desire for alcohol but I don't know about desire for smoking.
Sulphur can also be very much depressive, there is desire for being left alone, more suited in workaholics. Hering called the sulphur patient "the ragged philosopher" he is selfish and here master Kent comments the more he goes on in this state the more he is disappointed because the world does not consider him the greatest man on earth. Old inventors work and work, and fail. The complaints that arise in this kind of case, even the acute complaints, will run to sulphur.
Aurum met is greatest depressive medicine but it is more of passive while here our patient seems active!
Palladium is also having great depression, specially with love of approbation, pride. It can be easily offended and inclined to use violent language. Likings of bright colours is there in palladium. I am not aware weather desire for alcohol and smoking is there or not. But yes it is too very similar,,,
Doesn't know why but still In my opinion it should be sulphur.
Cannabis indica
ReplyDeleteCannabis indica is wonderful remedy for oppression. Master Clarke says it is full of fun and mischief, and laughs immoderately. There is constant fear of being insane. Excessive loquacity with sudden loss of speech! I don't know whether likings for cigarette and alcohol is there or not.
